Thembinkosi Lillian Mvelasi

Profession

I am a social worker, development practitioner, and mental health counsellor who has worked with youths, children, and caregivers in various communities throughout Zimbabwe. Promoting social justice and educating them on mental health and child abuse prevention, as well as assisting in the creation of safe spaces for everyone in the communities.

Passion and Drive

To promote social transformation, societal cohesiveness, and individual and community empowerment, as well as an understanding of human development, behaviour, and social, economic, and cultural institutions and relationships.  Collaboration with families and institutions to offer and promote societal impacts such as reduced mental health stigma, Medicaid and Medicare, and prevention of child abuse and neglect, among others, in order to assist families and individuals in remaining motivated and achieving success.

As a Coordinator, my responsibility on the team is to help manage and lead each element of the organization’s objectives.  I assist with administrative matters as well as “on-field” support such as camp implementation and delivering expertise such as charity type governance, training and teaching participants, and giving a platform for children to benefit from my capabilities.

Courtney Rundofa

PROFESSION

Professionally qualified social worker, licensed with the Council of Social Workers Zimbabwe. Licensed Trauma Counsellor and trainer with 4 years of experience in training caregivers and youths in understanding the impact of trauma on development. Extensive experience in working in Child Protection and Safeguarding.

PASSION AND DRIVE

Dedicated social worker with experience in demonstrating strong commitment and passion in serving children, families, communities, adults and youth.  Skilled at building community relations, community support and community referral pathways through networking meetings and trainings designed to improving child and safeguarding systems. Bachelor of Sciences Honours graduate majoring in Social Work from the University of Zimbabwe with in depth understanding of the legislation, regulations and procedures concerning child welfare and community development processes.
